Spitsbergen

Spitsbergen-1
The Norwegian island of Spitsbergen is part of the Svalbard archipelago, located above the Arctic Circle and home to a population of approximately 3000 Polar Bears year round. From Longyearbyen, the largest settlement in Svalbard and located in west Spitsbergen, there are Polar Bear viewing opportunities by both land and sea. Viewing the bears along the coastlines by expedition ship is a very popular viewing experience, but there are also viewing opportunities by land in camps that are located throughout Svalbard.
